FAQs

Do we accept insurance?

For Wisconsin Residents, we are in network with Aetna, Cigna, and UHC/Optum.

What if my insurance isn’t listed or if I don’t have insurance?

If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential reimbursement. For those without insurance, self-pay rates are available. Please note that if you’re using out-of-network benefits, the full self-pay rate is due at the time of service.

Self-pay rates:

    • New patient psychiatric and medical intake: $250 (60 minutes)
    • Follow-up visit: $150 (30 minutes)
    • Medication refill: $75 (15 minutes)
    • Psychotherapy: $150.00 / hour for intake assessment

$90.00 / hour for 60 minute follow up session

Do you have a cancellation or no show policy?
We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be charged to the card on file. This policy helps maintain respectful boundaries for both your time and ours. That said, we completely understand that life happens! If you miss a visit or need to cancel within the 24-hour window, don’t worry—you won’t be judged. We’ll gladly excuse the first missed appointment or late cancellation, but after that, our policy will be enforced. Please note that insurance does not cover this fee. Additionally, any outstanding balances must be paid before scheduling follow-up visits or receiving medication refills. Thank you for your understanding!
Will you work with my therapist or other providers?
We believe that collaborative care leads to the best outcomes, and we’re happy to work together with your medical provider and therapist to support your health. To make this possible, a signed release of information is required to allow us to communicate with them. If you’d like to move forward with this, simply request a release of information form and we’ll provide it for you.
Do you have a controlled substance policy?
At our practice, we take the prescription of controlled medications very seriously. For benzodiazepines, we do not prescribe them for daily or long-term use due to the potential risks, including rebound anxiety, disrupted sleep, increased tolerance, and concerns about early onset Alzheimer’s or dementia. If you are currently using a benzodiazepine daily, your provider will work with you to develop a slow and safe tapering plan, along with exploring alternative treatments to better manage your anxiety. If daily benzodiazepine use is something you prefer to continue without exploring other options, we recommend considering a provider who aligns with that approach. For more information on the risks and intended uses of benzodiazepines, you can visit https://www.benzoinfo.com. Regarding stimulant medications for ADHD, they may be prescribed following a complete psychiatric evaluation and review of supporting documents and scales. If you have an ADHD diagnosis and are currently on a stimulant, please bring a copy of your records to your initial visit or sign a release of information to have them transferred to us. Thank you for understanding!
What is your refill policy?

We believe that collaborative care leads to the best outcomes, and we’re happy to work together with your medical provider and therapist to support your health. To make this possible, a signed release of information is required to allow us to communicate with them. If you’d like to move forward with this, simply request a release of information form and we’ll provide it for you.

Medication refills are provided during your appointment. If you need a refill between appointments, please send a message through the patient portal. Refill requests will be processed within 3 business days, but are not handled on weekends or holidays. Refills will only be approved for patients with a scheduled follow-up appointment. It is your responsibility to schedule and attend follow-up appointments as part of your treatment plan. Please note that lost or stolen controlled substances will not be replaced.

How often will I need to see you?
Follow-up visits are more frequent at the beginning of treatment, especially when starting new medications or adjusting doses. These visits may be scheduled every 2-4 weeks initially. In some cases, more than one visit may be necessary to complete your initial psychiatric evaluation, depending on the complexity of your situation. Once a stable and effective medication regimen is established, follow-up appointments are typically scheduled every 1 to 6 months, based on your individual needs and treatment plan.
